‘Leskovac’ is a remarkably productive and resilient quince variety, boasting a tidy dwarf habit that makes it a perfect fit for small gardens and patio containers. Adorned with beautiful rounded silver leaves and charming green-pink flowers in spring, it produces fragrant, pear-shaped fruits that ripen to a lemony shade of yellow and can be harvested from October. While freshly picked quinces are bitter and inedible, their true magic unfolds when cooked into excellent jams and jellies. Garden care:
When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. The fruits can be stored in a cool, dry and dark place on shallow trays for up to three months. Allow the fruits to mature for six weeks before using. This semi-dwarfing rootstock quince is self-fertile.
