Magnolia Shirazz (‘Vulden’)

This small but highly ornamental tree erupts with large, goblet-shaped flowers in an opulent burgundy-pink shade. As the shapely buds open, they reveal paler interiors and flatten to reveal their full dramatic colour. The deep green summer foliage emerges later, providing a lush, leafy backdrop once the floral show finishes. Though compact in scale, ‘Shirazz’ makes its presence felt, lighting up the landscape with rich, decadent hues just when it is needed most.
