Belonging to the same family as the grape vines, this deciduous climber has three- or five-lobed leaves, which are heavily mottled with cream and pink – and in autumn, it often takes on red or yellow tones before being shed. It makes a handsome addition to a warm, sheltered wall that has some shade through the hottest part of the day – and occasionally it may reward you with ornamental berries.
- Garden care: Trim to fit the available space in spring.
- Humans/Pets: Fruit are ornamental – not to be eaten
